it's Spirit of Vengeance Vednesday ( again ) !

All my faithful followers out there have probably been wondering why it took such a big fan of the horror genre this long to make a post for the month of Halloween and there are two reasons. First up I wanted to concentrate on finishing up the posts I started before making a new one ( at the moment I have 39 unfinished posts ) but at the moment I seem to be stuck. So this is a good moment to do a new post. Secondly I didn't want to do another GHOST RIDER post so soon after the last one but then I realized that it has been eight months since my latest spotlight post on Mark Texeira's run on the title with Howard Mackie and Javier Saltares.

Now as my longtime readers know, I don't like to repeat myself ( at least not when I can help it ) so I am not making another Mark Texeira GHOST RIDER post, as much fun as that might be. Also at the moment I do not have enough art to make it a full blown Mark Texeira post and I would have to include some art by other creators. Not that there is something wrong with that but I am keeping that option open for when I am really desperate. So instead I am doing the Doctor Strange / Ghost Rider team up that I hinted at in the already mentioned GHOST RIDER post and to give equal time to all concerned this is a two - parter because we just had two DC Comics posts but mostly because I can't fit all into one post.

One last thing I have to mention is that the writer on these issues was Roger McKenzie, the pencil art was done by Don Perlin - best known for his work on Defenders, Werewolf By Night and co - crating Moon Knight and VALIANT ComicsBloodshot - and the inks were handled by Owen Mc Carron, Tony DeZuniga, Alfredo Alcala ( issue 29 ), Jim Mooney ( issue 30 ) and Bob Layton ( issue 31 ) while the covers were done by Rich Buckler ( issue 29 ), Ernie Chan ( issue 30 ) and also Frank Robbins ( issue 31 ).

This has nothing to do with Halloween, but as longtime followers of the blog know the Cannonball Run movies have been a guilty pleasure of mine for decades and I promise I didn't plan this but with this video about the original movie and another feature about the first Creepshow movie in our next post we have an Adrienne Barbeau double feature.

I really was thinking about including this video in my post pimping Jack Kirby's KING - SIZE monster books ( the THOR and FANTASTIC FOUR books are still available at amazon in Spain and Germany for the measly price of 55 Euros ) since I put my first Burt Reynolds movie - Hooper - into the bonus section and naturally mentioned the Cannonball Run movies but it was too late and it would have been too difficult to re - write the part.
