Deja Vu. The strange feeling you have seen or experienced something before. As longtime followers of TALES FROM THE KRYPTONIAN know this happens to me a lot especially when it comes to posts I THINK I´ve already written. But when I look for them I can´t find them because I HAVE NOT written them, I only think I did. One such post is my post for Irv Novick.
Because he came up in the birthday section of my post about Jack Kirby´s superhero Sandman appearing in Neil Gaiman´s brilliant SANDMAN book and as usual when I don´t have any material about a certain topic, comic writer or artist I am writing about I turned to the internet to find stuff I could include in the post. And - also as usual - I found a lot of Irv Novick art ( which included some black and white ) and I made a special folder.
I even looked for most of the color pages that went with the original art.
On top of that I made a mental note to do the post as soon as possible but here we are more than two years later and it still has not happened yet.
And I would not be doing this post now ( especially since I still have four more posts to finish ) if it wasn´t for the fact that a. ) there is something else I planned on doing and where I already prepared most of the material but then got sidetracked and never got around to do it ( but we will come to that in the bonus section ) and b. ) there has been a lot of Marvel Comics content in my last posts so I need some DC Comic stuff and since the anniverary of Irv Novick´s birth was on April the 11th he got elected.
Now I have to be honest I was never the biggest fan of Irv Novick´s art.
Nevertheless he was one of the artists who returned Batman to his gothic roots during the Bronze Age with writer Frank Robbins and besides illustrating many memorable stories of Batlore like Bruce Wayne Rest In Peace, The Ghost Of Wayne Mansion, The Ghost Who Haunted Batman, Shadow Of The Cat, The Cat Who Would Be King, This Way Lies Madness, Asylum Sinister, This One´ll Kill You, Batman ! or Angel Or Devil ? in BATMAN 216which finally revealed butler Alfred´s last name he co - created the Ten - Eyed Man in BATMAN 226 and the Spook in DETECTIVE COMICS 434 with Frank Robbins, launched the DennyO´Neil penned The Joker series and drew the introductions of future Teen Titans member Duela Dent in BATMAN FAMILY 6and the Electrocutioner in BATMAN 311.
Besides the Batman books he also worked on WONDER WOMAN, TEEN TITANS, THE FLASH, SUPERMAN, SUPERMAN QUARTERLY ( which was a title that was done exclusively for Ehapa Verlag, the company that published DC Comics in Germany which is why I could not find any color pages for the original art from this )and SUPERMAN`S GIRLFRIEND LOIS LANE.
During his first stint for DC he mostly drew romance comics and war comics like OUR ARMY AT WAR, OUR FIGHTING FORCES, ALL - AMERICAN MEN OF WAR and G. I. COMBAT. He also introduced The Silent Knight ( not to be confused with The Shining Knight who was a member of The Seven Soldiers Of Victory and who appeared in the STARGIRL tv show ) with writer Robert Kanigher in the first issue of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD.

Deja Vu. The strange feeling you have seen or experienced something before. The second part where this happened is Mtv´s dance show The Grind and I know what you are going to say : I have already mentioned The Grind on a few posts and I have included some videos from this show.
But most of the clips from The Grind I included in my posts have been deleted and I also never got around to do a full cult siren post or at least a better spotlight feature in my entertainment section. I kept mentioning that one of these days when I have the tranquility and time I have to make a post about the sexy chicks from Mtv´s The Grind but I never did.
So you might ask yourself what has changed ?
Well, for one I realized a while ago that I don´t have much time left on this world and if I don´t want to have any regrets I should stop putting things off and do them while I can. But all this would not have meant anything if I hadn´t found some new videos on YouTube from The Grind.
Because it makes no sense if I don´t have any new content to post. Now mind you, being from the era they are the quality of these clips is not the highest one but it is good enough to make some animated GIFs of the hot dancers on this show. Which is the most important part because the videos can be deleted from YouTube but then the GIFs will be still here.
And forget about finding photos of any of the bonerinducing dancers on the internet. This show is so old that almost nobody remembers it and the few that do don´t have any pictures to post. So I went through all of the new videos of The Grind to find any that had some of the regular rump - shaking sexbombs plus some of my personal favorite teenage titwonders.
Because not all of the clips had some interesting girls in them or at least girls that are interesting to me.And then I had to narrow it down to those videos which not only had the girls I was looking for but also those where the lighting let you make out more than a few shadows and the camera guy filmed them in a way that you could actually see the important parts.
And then the last step was finding those short moments and dance moves that were deserving of investing the time and effort to turn them into animated GIFs. Because you have to keep in mind that making the GIFs not only takes a lot of time but also that this is time I am not spending on finishing other posts. At first I did this for a whole day but after that I could only dedicate a few hours every day to making them which is why it took me more than two week to finish them. Or better said finish the first batch up to a point where I could make a decent post. Which is one of the reaon why it bugged me so when I realized I had not done the post yet.
But I was waiting for a post where I didn´t have a lot of cult siren - related stuff and the problem with that was that most of my spin - off posts lately were done to cut some stuff from the cult siren section so that base was alredy covered. But now I finally have a post with a bit more leeway there.
Going into media res I should probably start with a little history lesson and explain to the younger generation what Mtv´s The Grind was. Watching tapes with british 90s pornsuperstarSarahLouiseYoungwas expensive for a young strapping lad at his sexual prime with no disposable income so because this was before the internet when you could find naked women 24 / 7 I had to rely on the tv for hot babes like Adrienne Barbeau or Markie Post and one show I watched - and also taped - religiously was The Grind.

Compared to the club episodes the beach or beachhouse episodes were much better because there was more light and you could see all the hot chicks better. And because it was often very hot they didn´t wear as much and often just sticked to swimsuits and bikinis. While the early beach and beachhouse episodes were quite good there were more big breasted babes in later episodes but the episodes where they were at the beach or at Las Vegas were these nubile sexbombs with booming bodies wore only bikins were simply the best. Because it was on so early I always had to program the vcr to tape it ( ask your father, no, better ask your grandfather if you want to know what that means ) and in some instances I came late to school because of this.
The girl in the animated GIF below for instance was to blame that I came late to school on one day because I just could not take my eyes off her.
Another time I was sad because there was an episode where you could see her naked boobs in all their teenage glory underneath her shirt for a fraction of a second or at least her bra ( you can see by the way she´s dancing above how that happened ) and I erased that part by mistake.
Back at that time I did quite a few mixtapes - other people did this with music I did it with music clips and The Grind. Since there were only just a few good scenes in every show ( much more in the beachhouse, beach or Hawai show and most of them wore itsy bitsy bikinis ) I put all the clips on one videotape. Of course I had to come up with my own names for them.
Well, at least the important dancers which were especially hot and good at shaking their stuff. I always made two kind of tapes : the mastertapes which contained all the good clips of the shows, various mixes and loops of the babes and of course slowmotion scenes. And the mixtapes which had the best clips and special mixes of individual honeys who had earned the special slow mo treatment for excellently executed stripper moves.
Most of the dancers on the show were not professional dancers which for me was the special thing of the show. I don´t know how old they were but there were some chicks with incredibly huge hooters. If they were teenagers there were a lot of them who were pretty gifted for their age.

But back to Mtv´s The Grind. Back then I spent a lot of time doing my mastertapes of the latest shows. Of course there were not only the hot dancers on the show that made it such a huge success with the male audience. There were musicians appearing live like Aaliyah and they had guest presenters like HOME IMPROVEMENT´s Debbe " Double D " Dunning.
Well, she didn´t wear that bonerriffic outfit but only because it was a beach edition and she wore a bikini. And Debbe looks terrific in a bikini.
Another celebrity host was natural born go - go dancer and 36E ( !!! ) - 23 - 34 Baywatch beachbody and playmate Carmen Electra who could shake her boobs with the best of them but that is something to discuss elsewhere.
Coming back to The Grind the whole reason of the exercise is to start the special dancers whom I mentioned earlier and I want to start with the following sexbomb which I have dubbed " Curly Sis "because she has curly hair like Curly Sue in the movie that had just come out at that time and because she was the sister of one of the male dancers of the show which led to a lot of trouble down the way. But we will come to that stuff later.
